It is however important that you advise your Crown Relocations moving consultant of any high value items you plan to move interstate such as works of art or antiques, so we can take precautions during packing and preparation including possibly building custom crates and specialist packing.

Yes, you can pack your own boxes. Some clients elect to pack non breakable items such as clothing, linen and books and leave the more fragile items to us. If you choose to do this, we will supply you with appropriate cartons and packing materials

We can also provide you with instructions and tips for packing your boxes for interstate transportation, however we can not be responsible for any breakages in boxes packed by you.

Most interstate removals in Australia are performed using 20' steel furniture containers which are transported by either rail or road. The advantage of containerised removals is the ability to facilitate short-term storage and coordinate delivery dates. Another advantage is reduced handling which minimises the risk of loss or damage.

The major factors influencing the cost of interstate moving are the size of your move, the distance of the move, the time of the year and fuel costs. The peak moving season in Australia is the Summer months and there is generally less demand and more flexibility from February to November.

Whilst it is unusual for items to be damaged or lost in transit, there are inherent risks associated with long distance transportation by road or rail and for your peace of mind we strongly recommend that you take out transit protection.
